February 22, 2005 -- This is a reminder about the proof-of-time requirements for the upcoming state meets.  The Wisconsin Senior Short Course Championships, this weekend WILL NOT have Internet access for the SWIMS database. ALL PROOFS OF TIME MUST BE BY PRINTED MEET RESULTS.  Printed results does NOT mean a laptop computer, and it does NOT mean a Team Entries report.  Printed meet results from LSC Sanctioned meets must include the sanction number, pool size, meet location and date on every page.  Proofs from other meets, such as High School or YMCA, must be meet results published by the meet host.

Here are the official rules for proofs:

Competitors not swimming equal or faster than the meet time standard must prove their official time with printed meet results or pay a $50 fine.  Disqualified swimmers must also prove their times.  Printed results (hard copy) proof must be provided or the fine paid immediately following an event that does not meet the time standard.  This must be done before the swimmer competes in another event or before that swimmer's team competes in any further relays.

Coaches are expected to have their printed meet results with them, and not have meet management personnel provide or solicit the results for them.  In short, if no printed meet results are presented to the meet management table, then the $50 fine must be paid.  Otherwise the swimmer and/or relays will not be allowed to compete.

At the Wisconsin 14 & Under Short Course Championships, March 4-6, there WILL ALSO NOT be Internet access.  Entry times will be checked against the SWIMS Database registered times and automatically be pre-proven.  Coaches should check the database prior to the meet to verify, and should bring adequate proof, but may not have to produce it

Note: Currently, the Time Trial results from the BAC, WEST and OZ regional meets cannot be loaded into the database, so printed results will be needed for these times.
