Little Strokes Swim Academy in Waunakee is hiring for professional instructors:

Qualified instructors will be high school graduates and be required to have all or most of the following:

Swim Coaching experience
Competitive swim experience
Swim instruction experience

You must be dependable and focused.  The shifts available are Sunday - Thursdays 2:45pm - 7:45pm (You can choose which days you would like to work).  Pay is $15.00 - $17.00/hr after you have finished your training.  While you train you will make $10.00/hr.

Interim Head Coach

Due to the upcoming deployment of the current head coach of River Falls Swim Club, there is an opening for an Interim Head Coach.  This long term, full time temporary position is open from approx 7/1/12 thru 8/13/13.  This position concludes upon the return of the current head coach and his resumption of head coach duties.  The candidate shall have coaching experience and the ability to create work-outs and seasonal training plans along with being proficient in Hy-Tek Team and Meet Manager.  The candidate will be current on all requirements: Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, Concussion Training, ASCA Level 1 Certified, First Aid, and CPR.  Expectations of the successful candidate is to manage a 75-100 swimmer club with a 6 member coaching staff.  Must be available during the day for office duties and communication with the club members and board as well as being on the pool deck every week day night from 6 - 9 pm.  Coaching weekends is also expected.  Pay is dependent upon experience and fulfillment of job expectations.  Send resume' to Michael Brudzinski or Rich Karras at email addresses below.

Assistant Swim Team Coach

Description: Part Time / Hourly Rate based on experience. 10-15+ Hours per week.

The Assistant Swim Team Coach is supervised by the Head Swim Team Coach while working approximately 125 to 185 Waunakee Swimming Team swimmers aged 5 to 18 throughout the year.  The Assistant Coach is responsible for working with the Head Coach to ensure the development of each individual swimmer while encouraging sportsmanship, healthy competition, and attendance at meets.  The Assistant Coach is expected to support the discipline of regular swimming practices focusing on stroke technique, in water and dry land demonstration, and drills along with a heavy dose of age-appropriate motivation, encouragement, and fun.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for Assistant Swim Team Coach has a motivating presence, a thorough understanding and talent of stroke & turn mechanics /coaching, an instructional vocabulary that can span the needs of kids age 5 to 18, a love of coaching, team leadership skills, and proven organizational skills.  The Assistant Coach must be capable of supervising groups of up to 40 swimmers with an assistant and filling some Head Coach duties when required.  Previous swim team assistant coaching and stroke coaching experience is mandatory.  A minimum two year history of USA Swimming coaching experience on a competitive swim team (high school and/or college level) is required.

Additionally, the Assistant Swim Coach must hold the following certifications:

  1. American Red Cross Community CPR or Professional Rescuer, or American Heart Association CPR (level B or C).  Course must include use of AED.
  2. Standard First Aid
  3. American Red Cross Lifeguarding or Safety Training for Swim Coaches
  4. Appropriate (AAU, USA Swimming) Coaching & Safety Certifications.
  5. Any level of ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) certification or willingness to pursue a plus.
This position is open now and will be filled as soon as possible but quality candidates would be considered for the spring/summer session of 2012.

Part-Time Coach

SENIOR ELITE COACHING POSITION AT CHIPPEWA VALLEY YMCA-CHIPPEWA FALLS WISCONSIN

The Chippewa YMCA is looking for a part-time coach for the YMCA’S Senior Elite Swim Group.  This group is comprised of high school boys and girls and swimmers ages 12 and up who are compete and practice at a high level of intensity.  The entire swim team is made up of approx. 90-100 swimmers.  Responsibilities would include writing workouts, attending all practices and meets.  Requirements include the ability to coach at a high level through workouts comprised of technique and endurance; competitive swimming and coaching background.

This position would most likely begin in the fall of 2012 but could start as early as summer 2012.  Other Aquatic positions also available at the YMCA along with the potential for a Head Coach job in the future.

Head Developmental Coach

Fox Cities YMCA Swim Team is seeking a motivated and responsible full time Head Developmental Coach.  The team has 200 athletes ranging from beginner to national level and practices out of four practice locations.

Position responsibilities include: assisting in managing staff, staff scheduling and program development and promotion.  Participation in running home meets, coaching at away meets, age group swimming and masters swimming practices.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of coaching experience, an ASCA Level 2 certification and supervisory experience.  A degree in Recreation, Health, Physical Education, Coaching or related field is preferred.  Candidates must enjoy working with kids; have strong verbal communication skills and be an excellent role model displaying the YMCA core values.  Administrative skills should include proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Hy-tek Team, Business and Meet Manager and Team Unify.

Part-Time Coach

The Menomonee Falls Swim Club is looking for an energetic part-time coach to work primarily with novice swimmers.  Primary responsibilities include acting as lead coach at our novice sessions five days a week in the evenings and some assisting to senior practices.  Candidates must enjoy working with kids; have strong verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of competitive swimming.  Menomonee Falls Swim Club operates in the Menomonee Falls area west of Milwaukee at the Menomonee Falls High School Pool.  Hourly pay would be commensurate with experience.  This is a part-time position, 8-12 hours per week.  Candidate must be willing to obtain, or have, Lifeguarding and USA Swimming coaching certification.

Assistant Coach

The Oshkosh Community YMCA located in Oshkosh, WI has an opening for a full time Assistant Coach for the Oshkosh YMCA Swim Team (www.oshyswimteam.org) The Oshkosh YMCA Swim Team is home to 165 swimmers ranging from 5-18; abilities ranging from novice to Junior National qualifiers.  The OSHY Swim Team operates out of 2 Short Course Yard pools and 1 Short Course Meters pool.  The OSHY Swim Team has been a strong YMCA-values based program that takes great pride in being a part of the YMCA culture.

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of coaching experience and ASCA Level 2 certification.  5 years of coaching experience and ASCA Level 3 certification preferred.  This position will involve assisting with our Senior Performance Group as well as the lead coach for one of our 14 and under groups.  In addition to strength of character and being an excellent role model, the candidate should possess a strong work ethic, a selfless attitude, excellent communication skills and organizational skills.  Computer proficiency is needed in Hy-Tek (TM & MM), MS Word and Excel, and Team Unify.

Age Group Coaches

The Blue Devil Swim Club, located in Gurnee, IL just 45 minutes north of Chicago is seeking coaches to begin this Fall/Winter season.  The Blue Devil Swim Club is a year round club with 120 plus athletes of all skill levels of swimming.

PART TIME HEAD AGE GROUP COACH
The qualified candidate will report to the Head Coach and assist with approximately 20 hours of duties per week, which includes workout development and management, office work and swim meets.  In the absence of the Head Coach, the Age Group Head Coach will assume the lead role in administering and supervising daily workouts, other assistant coaches, and office work including but not limited to writing daily workouts, team organization & communication, creating meet entries, and website updating. Applicants must have at least 4 years’ age group coaching experience, CPR, First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches.  The candidate must have working knowledge of Hytek Team Manager, Meet Manager, Workout Manager and Microsoft Office.

ASSISTANT AGE GROUP COACH
The qualified candidate will report to the Head Coach and assist with approximately 15 hours of duties per week, which will include practices and swim meets. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of coaching or teaching swim lesson experience.  Qualified candidates should have a strong desire to work with young athletes, along with outstanding communication and teaching skills.  Dependability and strong work ethic are a must.  Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training or the ability to achieve them is required.  Pay appropriate to qualifications and experience.
